The new UMass Memorial Cancer Center at Marlborough Hospital expands the UMass Memorial Health Care Cancer Center of Excellence by offering a choice for advanced cancer care close to home. Our new center brings complete cancer care to the MetroWest region and the 495 Corridor. With such easy access, our patients and their families can better focus on recovering and getting back to the lives they knew before cancer.
Radiation Oncology
Delivering safer, more accurate therapy – in less time
The center features TrueBeam® radiation therapy, a fully integrated system that coordinates imaging, patient positioning, motion management and treatment to:
- Provide more precise dosages for safer radiation therapy treatments
- Deliver times that can be up to 50 percent faster than conventional radiation therapy
- Treat tumors anywhere in the body where radiation treatment is needed
- Increase patient comfort
Medical Oncology (Chemotherapy)

The Steven E. Salomon, MD Infusion Suite provides a soothing and relaxed atmosphere for chemotherapy treatments. With patients and their families in mind, a wide range of amenities to assist in patient comfort are available including:

Cultivating better health
Viewing and interacting with nature have been proven to reduce stress, alleviate negative emotions, and aid in the healing process. The therapeutic benefits of a healing garden at a health care facility can provide much comfort to patients, caregivers and families. Our Healing Garden is aimed at providing a relaxing, visual experience for our patients.

Our physicians are specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology and hematology with many years of clinical experience in all types of cancers. These committed and compassionate specialists use advanced technology and techniques for diagnosing and treating cancer. As an expert resource, they also educate and support patients and families – and each other.
Our patients also have access to well-known cancer surgeons who have special expertise and training in many different kinds of tumors, including some types of rare cancers that may be difficult to treat.
