Rick Robinson, Capstone Home Inspections, Inc.
Rick Robinson is the president and sole operating agent of Capstone Home Inspections, Inc., based in Marlborough. He started the company as an adjunct to “R. P. Robinson Construction, Inc.”; a commercial and residential remodeling business he ran for several years.
Home inspecting drew his attention in 1992 when the Massachusetts Board of Licensure announced that it was beginning the process of licensing home inspectors. Intrigued by the prospect, in 1995, he spent a week at the ‘Home Inspection Institute of America, Inc.’ in Yalesville, CT to learn how to run a successful home inspection business. It was his intention to develop a company to provide him with viable less physical income. His vast experience in the commercial and residential construction made him a natural candidate do perform home inspections. Rick plans never to retire; to quote Rick “I love my work”.
In 1996 he started Capstone Home Inspections; a DBA doing business in Marlborough. In May of 2003, the date by which all home inspectors must be licensed, Rick and several hundred other inspectors received their licenses. In 2011, with the help of Atny. Jeff Shaffer, he incorporated and became Capstone Home Inspections, Inc.
Rick has a full Mass. CSL (Licensed Construction Supervisor) License, and a Mass. Home Inspector License. He is a Certified Home Inspector with “InterNACH”I the (International National Association of Certified Home Inspectors).In addition to Home Inspections Rick is certified to perform: Radon Testing, Water Quality Testing, and Mold and Air Quality Testing.
Because his business requires a brand new customer every day. Rick, inspired by BNI and Ivan Misner, studied and became an expert in referral based form of marketing (Givers Gain), the essence of which is “build business relationships before you need them so they will always be there when you need them and share them with everyone”. Rick teaches referral based marketing at the chamber and to businesses in the Metrowest area.
On the personal side, Rick resides here in Marlboro with his wife Sheila of 49 years and their two cats Aretha and Henry. He has three daughters, Meredith, Laura, and Jennifer. Rick has many hobbies to keep him busy; shooting, motorcycles and reading are his favorites.
Rick feels that it is incredibly important to give back to the community, and to that end he served as the “non-paid” chairman of the Marlborough Planning Board, coached Marlborough Youth Soccer, was president of the Kane School Parent and Teacher Organization, has been a member of the Marlborough Lions Club for nearly forty years.
