The Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce has awarded five $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from local high schools. Recipients of the 2018 Scholarships from Marlborough High School are Igor DeMoraes, who plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Julia Lambert who plans to attend the University of New Hampshire. The recipients from Hudson High School are Michael Cuddy, who plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Bradford Connor who plans to attend Merrimack College. The Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School recipient is William Soto who plans to attend Wagner College.
The Scholarship Committee is made up of a small group of volunteers who each spent over 30 hours reviewing the Scholarship applications. Darren McLaughlin, chairperson of the Scholarship Committee for the Chamber said, “All the students who applied had excellent credentials, and each year it proves to be an extremely challenging and rewarding process as the committee determines the winners.”
The five Scholarship recipients will be honored at a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours & Scholarship Awards Ceremony on June 13, 2018 sponsored by Hologic and hosted by Talia Luxury Apartments located at 155 Ames St, Marlborough, MA. At that time, they will receive a Certificate of Recognition to be presented by Chamber CEO and President Susanne Morreale Leeber.
