Marlborough, MA — Mayor Arthur Vigeant and Susanne Morreale Leeber, President & CEO, of the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce will present Clifford Avey, Jr. with the 2013 Marlborough Heritage Hero at the Mayor’s Conference Room, City Hall, Marlborough, Wednesday, October 2nd. at 2:00pm.

Clifford Avey served as Marlborough City Treasurer for 22 years. He then served as manager for St. Mary’s Credit Union from 1981 – 1992. He still serves as a director for St. Mary’s Credit Union today.

Cliff also is on the Marlborough Historical Society and the Board of Olde Marlborough. He is a longtime Marlborough Resident and has volunteered for numerous community events and organizations.

The 18th Annual Marlborough Heritage Festival is this Sunday, October 6th from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The Festival is presented by the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce to provide a day of fun for the entire family while celebrating the City’s rich heritage and promoting downtown Marlborough as an enjoyable place to visit.

“Celebrating the heritage and cultural diversity of Marlborough is the focus this year by featuring cultural cuisine, entertainment and exhibits.” Said Susanne Morreale Leeber, CCE, President & CEO.

Main Street will be blocked to vehicular traffic from Florence Street to Bolton Street to accommodate street performers, cultural displays and ethnic foods, continuous music and vendor booths. This year there will be many activities for children and the entire family.

Admission and parking is free.

Children’s games and activities such as face painting, balloon animals and crafts will be offered. This year a special Story Hour will take place by celebrity readers on the city hall steps.

Vendors will offer cultural displays, ethnic foods, handmade items and baked goods.
