Interim Chief Administrative Officer, Debra Vanderwerf, will be stepping down from her position and begin serving as a consultant to the RIver Edge Arts Alliance as of June 1st.
Ms. Vanderwerf will be moving out of state with her husband, who has accepted a new job in Arizona.

“The arts alliance is in a strong position as an arts provider, resource, and advocate in the region”, states Ms. Vanderwerf, “I am confident our board of directors will find the next leader to oversee our thriving portfolio of programs.”

During her 8 month tenure, Ms. Vanderwerf has increased organizational capacity for the arts alliance through new and expanded programming, increased membership and visibility, secured funding and sponsorships, and strengthened community partnerships. In addition to serving in a leadership capacity at River’s Edge, Ms. Vanderwerf also serves as Chair of Hudson’s Downtown Business Improvement District’s Arts and Culture Committee.

“It’s been a pleasure working with the amazing artists, cultural organizations, and businesses in our community and using the arts as a vehicle to economic vitality in Hudson and surrounding communities”, said Ms. Vanderwerf. She will continue to serve as consultant and grant manager for the arts alliance.

“Debra has been an amazing part of our team since she joined us last summer”, said Board of Director President Lisa Schliker, “While we are sad to see her go in her current capacity as CAO, she has helped to make our organization even stronger.”  Ms. Schliker adds, “Her love for the arts and her knowledge of the non-profit sector was the perfect fit for our organization. We are glad that Debra will continue to serve as a consultant when she moves out of state.”
