Jorie Designs, an Art and Marketing company, originally based in Framingham, MA has opened an Art Gallery and Artisan Gift Shop on Route 20 (Boston Post Road) in Marlborough, on the Sudbury Line, at Wayside Inn Plaza.
Marjorie (Jorie) Anderson, Owner and Founder of “Jorie Designs Gallery & Gifts” invites the public to come and see her new space located between A.J.Cakes Bakery and the “Penny Candy Store” (Wayside Country Store) at the plaza.
Included in the shop is a new Art Gallery, currently featuring: Patino Vazquez’ upcycled guitars, amps and re-purposed iron and wood bench, Carlos Felipe Zamora’s colorful triptych of “Boston Common”, which in full is 12 feet in length plus other beautiful mixed media works and paintings, Roger Kabler’s unique oil painting called “Night at the Cavern Club” which features John Lennon, Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Poole’s wonderful photo essays of the “Middle East Club” and other local venues. Also exhibiting in the Gallery are Cathy Gruetzke-Blais’ large acrylic paintings which are vibrantly colorful and exude positive energy, and finally two bold acrylic abstracts by Jorie Anderson.
In the Artisan Retail Shop, visitors will find semi-precious silver jewelry by Deb Perugi, One-of-a-kind ceramics by Margie Sisitsky, books by local authors Monty Brower and Lynne Damianos and much more including the original “Jorie Designs” products such as pillows, coasters, notebook sets. Photography and other original art is also on display in the Jorie Designs Artisan Retail Shop.

An Opening Reception will take place this Friday, June 9th at Jorie Designs Gallery & Gifts and the Stephen Anthony’s Banquet Hall featuring music by Steve Spector, Sara Spector-Brown, Steve Anderson and Patino Vazquez.
Food will be provided by Stephen Anthony’s Restaurant, Santa Cruz Deli and Creamery And A. J. Cakes Bakery all from the Plaza. Centerpieces provided by Wayside Country Store and Wayside Sewing. Cash Bar.
Also part of Jorie Designs is the new Lumina Satellite Gallery which is across the parking lot from (and part of) Wayland’s Longfellow Health Club on Route 20. Currently featured at this Satellite Gallery are Carolyn Kiefer, Judy Schneider, Mark Barnett and Helen Russell. Both Exhibits run through mid August. Next in the Jorie Designs Gallery will be a juried “Autumn” Themed Show, open to all local and regional artists.
Artists displaying next in the Lumina Gallery will be listed soon.
All of the artists and artisans on display through Jorie Designs Gallery and Gift Shop are based in the Metrowest region at this time. In the future, Artists from Greater Massachusetts and extending throughout New England will be featured.
