Bob Gustafson from R.K. Financial is Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce 2012 Business Person of the Year!
Bob Gustafson is the president of RKG Financial Inc., which was founded right here in Marlborough in July of 1995. Bob is a Certified Financial Planner and first began practicing in the industry more than 20 years ago. RKG Financial is a fee-only investment advisory firm that provides clients with comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services. Today, RKG maintains its headquarters here in Marlborough and is in process of opening another office in West Barnstable.
When Bob founded RKG Financial, he was determined to construct a company that would stand out in an industry that was already saturated with competition. He was successful in doing so because he focused on what people really needed from a financial advisor: objective advice and prudent management. RKG makes true comprehensive financial planning the cornerstone of its practice, and as a fee-only registered investment advisor RKG serves its clients in a fiduciary capacity.
Bob is active in a number of areas. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Northern New England chapter for the Financial Planning Association. The F.P.A., as they are known, is the largest membership organization for personal financial planners in the US. Bob also proudly serves on the executive board of directors for the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce.
On the personal side, Bob resides here in Marlborough with his wife Karen of 13 years and their two children who he absolutely adores. He also has a home on Cape Cod and has many hobbies to keep him busy. Fishing and hiking are two of his favorites.
Both Bob and his wife Karen feel that it is incredibly important to give back to the community, and to that end they generously donate to a variety of different charities. This year, with the help of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, Bob and Karen are setting up a foundation that will work to help people who want to adopt a child but cannot afford to do so. Adoption is a very expensive endeavor and there are many people out there who would love nothing more than to provide a home but lack the initial investment required to make it happen.
