DESCRIPTION:Marlborough\, MA (April 7\, 2016)– Brides Across America is proud to kick off its annual Operation Wedding Gown giveaway event. Our first event this year will be held on May 5-7. The Special Event Bridal Shoppe is teaming up with the Solomon Pond Mall to host a weekend long sale and Operation Wedding Gown event at the mall\, 601 Donald Lynch Blvd\, Marlborough\, MA. In an effort to support our communities\, Brides Across America will expand its efforts to include First Responders. Brides Across America\, The Special Event Bridal Shoppe and Solomon Pond Mall will say thank you to military and now our first responder brides by giving away free gowns valued up to $5\,000. Designers will vary and brides are encouraged to register early. “Operation Wedding Gown” has grown and we are excited to include first responders to this year’s events. \nFounder of Brides Across America\, Heidi Janson says “I have wanted to include first Responders as a part of our giving and it really seems like now is the right time.” She goes on to say\, “we want to honor those who are working hard saving lives here in the States and continue to honor our military fighting for our freedom here and abroad”. \nWhether it’s for love of country or love at the altar\, our front lines deserve our very best. Brides Across America and its partner salons have donated over 15\,000 wedding gowns and gifted 20 weddings since its inception in 2008. The program reduces stress in planning a wedding\, financial relief; (average wedding gowns cost with accessories $2000) and transforms lives. \nHow to qualify and register for an Operation Wedding Gown Event:\nFor more information on how to qualify\, locate a salon near you\, or to register for an event go to www.bridesacrossamerica.com. First responders eligible for this event include bride’s currently in the police force\, firefighters\, certified first responders and EMT’s. \nMilitary brides must bring proper identification along with deployment papers to be presented the day of the event. First Responders must bring a valid work ID the day of the event. \nAbout Brides Across America\nA national nonprofit\, Brides Across America continues to honor our heroes by giving weddings and wedding gowns to our deserving military and making wedding dreams come true. Brides Across America has provided assistance to thousands of military couples since its inception in 2008. All donations that are received go directly to provide support to our couples. To date\, Brides Across America\, in collaboration with bridal salons\, designers\, and individual donations has been able to donate more than 15\,000 wedding gowns and 20 weddings. Featured stories will include “Flakes and Flurries” by Josepha Sherman\, the “How I Became a Pirate” series by Melinda Long\, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle and more. \nSpecial guests will read the stories including staff from retailers Crazy 8 and Smilistic Dental\, as well as author of the book Weekends with Daisy\, Sharron Luttrell (with her dog Samurai)\, and educator Audra Guimond from Laurel Learning Services. \nBetween each reading\, children will have the opportunity to take part in interactive activities that bring the stories to life. \nFamilies are encouraged to RSVP on the event page at www.Facebook.com/SolomonPondMall.
