Community Band (Directed by Dave Bailey)

The River’s Edge Community Band, under the direction of David Bailey, will be welcoming new members on Thursday, January 7th as the ensemble continues its 14th Season. The fifty piece band welcomes musicians in all sections; saxophones and trumpets are particularly welcome.

Rehearsals are held 7:15-9:30 in Room C108, Hudson High School, 68 Brigham Street in Hudson during its regular season.  The spring concert of the year is Saturday afternoon, April 2nd  at 3 p.m. at Hudson High School.

The band is open to all, no audition required!   Adults with current and/or former experience, and students (grade 8-12) who play woodwind, brass and percussion instruments are welcome to join. The music explores and performs a wide variety of music, original band works, transcriptions, marches, jazz, popular and music from Broadway and motion pictures.  The technical and musical performance “difficulty” level of the music varies, but is generally playable by advanced high school bands.

Performing with the River’s Edge Community Band gives musicians of all ages a chance to rehearse, hone their musical skills, and share their talents with the community.  There is a small registration fee, with discounts available for River’s Edge Arts Alliance members.  To register or for more information visit upwitharts.org.
