9:00 -10:30 am Legal Update – presented by Attorney Matt Camardella, Jackson Lewis.
Join us for the NEILG annual meeting and learn more about how the NEILG is working to support government contractors in the New England. In addition, Matt Camardella, Jackson Lewis will provide program attendees with an update on regulatory, enforcement, and personnel changes at OFCCP and EEOC. Matt will also discuss the reversal or reconsideration of Obama-era initiatives by the Trump Administration, such as pay equity, minimum wage and paid sick leave, and LGBTQ protections. The presentation will also survey recent enforcement litigation brought by OFCCP and EEOC and discuss the implications for employers.

PRESENTERS:
Matthew Camardella is a Principal in the Long Island, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He is the Co-Chair of the Jackson Lewis Affirmative Action & OFCCP Defense Group. Mr. Camardella directs the preparation of more than 1,000 AAPs each year and has defended hundreds of OFCCP audits for a broad range of employers across the country. He also serves as the Practice Group lead on responding to OFCCP allegations of class-based discrimination. He regularly counsels clients about the design and implementation of company-wide AAP structures, applicant flow tracking systems, and other complex “real world compliance issues. He spends significant time advising clients on their compensation practices and directing pay equity analyses.
Paul McGovern, Manager of Affirmative Action/EEO for Verizon, for the past ten years Paul has been Verizon Corporation’s Affirmative Action program leader, responding to over 200 OFCCP desk audits and working with HR, IT and company business leaders to design and implement compliant, “audit ready” business practices. Prior to moving into the world of contractor compliance, Paul had both private practice and in-house legal experience. In addition, for a number of years Paul lead Talent Acquisition and EEO/Employee Relations investigation, defense and dispute resolution teams for Verizon. Paul is a member of the NEILG Planning Committee and serves on the NILG Board as a representative for the Northeast Region.
